How To Reserve A Facility

We invite you to reserve covered picnic pavilion areas, the gazebo, Friendship Park meeting room, and athletic fields in either Civic Center Park or Friendship Park. Several areas are ideal for baby showers, birthday celebrations, bridal showers, company picnics, family reunions, graduation open houses, weddings and other gatherings. Scroll down to see a list of facilities available for rent.

 

Reserving a park facility ensures that the site will be clean and dedicated for your use. Facility Use Fees vary depending on the facility and the amount of time for which it is reserved. The different policies and forms you will need are available by clicking here. Before submitting any forms and fees, call (248) 391-0304, ext. 306, to confirm the date and facility is available.

 

Reservations must be made at least fourteen (14) business days in advance of the date to be reserved.

 

You are required to provide proof of insurance. Please click here for details on what is required.

 

Remember, alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all parks, and smoking is prohibited within fifty (50′) feet of any athletic field, play structure, or Orion Township recreation activity when making your reservation decisions. We encourage you to fully read the rental agreement and note the Facility & Park Use Rules (Section 8).

 

Payment (application fee, rental fee and security deposit, if applicable) is due at the time of reservation along with completed facility rental agreement and proof of insurance. The Friendship Park Pavilion, Meeting Room and Gazebo require a $200 refundable security deposit. If you have to cancel, a written request must be received a minimum of fourteen (14) business days prior to your reservation date. There will be a $10.00 cancellation fee, this fee will be deducted from the refund of your rental fee. Your security deposit (if applicable) will be refunded in full. An additional fee will be charged when extra clean-up is required.

Civic Center Park

2525 Joslyn Road (at Joslyn & Greenshield Roads); Hours: 8:00 am to Dusk. The amenities listed below must all be reserved separately. Athletic equipment not provided. Also available is an ADA accessible playground, walking path & nature trail.

 

Sheardy Pavilion(covered picnic pavilion with capacity of 60, size is 28′ x 66′).Bathrooms, outdoors grills, picnic tables, wood burning fireplace (must make prior arrangements for use of fireplace and provideand use only natural wood products).
Baseball/Softball & Soccer Fields (certain restrictions apply, along with additional fees for dragging, lining & lighting)
Sand Volleyball Court
Basketball Courts
Shuffleboard Court

 

 

Friendship Park

3380 W. Clarkston Road (at Clarkston & Baldwin Roads); Hours: 8:00 am to Dusk. The amenities listed below must all be reserved separately. Athletic equipment not provided. Also available are outdoor grills, picnic tables, nature path/walking trails, and a tranquil pondless waterfall near the gazebo. There is no longer a play structure at the park due to safety reasons, but one will be constructed in the future.

 

Meeting Room(capacity of 45 seated w/tables & chairs, size 28 x 66). Kitchen with refrigerator, freezer and microwave, bathrooms (including a family bathroom), outdoor grills, gas fireplace (must make prior arrangements to use), tables (eight 5′ round, four 6′ rectangle, two youth size), chairs (50 adult, 12 youth), TV with DVD/VCR (must make prior arrangements for use).
Pavilion, Covered(capacity of 75, size 29′ x 36′). Picnic tables, outdoor grills, lighting, electrical outlets, gas fireplace (must make prior arrangements for use).
Gazebo(capacity of 100 in area, chairs not provided, size 18′ x 18′). Tranquil pondless waterfall, charming natural setting, lighting, electrical outlet.

Baseball/Softball & Soccer Fields (certain restrictions apply, along with additional fees for dragging, lining & lighting)

Picnic Shelter – covered picnic area, with picnic tables.

 

Jesse Decker Park

Squirrel Road, south of Silverbell Road – this expanded park is home to a multi-purpose soccer/football field, tennis courts, ballfields, walking paths, picnic shelter, playground, and fabulous sledding hill. Hours: 8:00 am to Dusk.

 

McConnell Field

On McConnell Road, a great place to pick up a game of baseball or to just practice your pitch.

 

Gingell Nature Area

This 40 acre wetland located at Maybee and Grafton is currently undeveloped. Future plans include adding an observation deck and trails for viewing wildlife.
